'Google' 'Games for Windows-Live' and download the client. It'll come with the marketplace software.

Yes it will work if you use your friend's code. I've done this before however, don't give it out to too many people otherwise the code will get banned. Just keep it between you two.

No the key will not work with 'Games for Windows', only 'Games for Windows - LIVE'.

What game is it? You can do it with cracked version which is what I do since I don't have any real cds lol.
